A not-so-big win I’m proud of? One of the brackets that holds the top rack in our dishwasher broke.
The rack could still hold dishes, but if you tried to pull it out too far, it would just about fall.
My wife and I aren’t the most mechanically inclined, but we managed to order the correct replacement piece (bonus points because it was a 2-pack) and replace the bracket ourselves.

Finally replaced my daily driver with something a little nicer, a 2012 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design. Wanted one for years and found one locally in reasonable shape with thorough maintenance records.
Probably gonna post the old car for sale on the forums soon when I get around to it.
A friend an I recently rebuilt the Carter 4 bbl carburetor that had never been off the car in 60 years. That may not sound like much, but I’ve never done that before.
I got released to drive again. Like, drive drive. Headed to Topeka Friday to put that to the test. E36 M3 is still broken but it’s usable and damnit I need this win.
finally…my apply polish, receive hardware plan has paid off! Received a top 30 trophy at the last car show i had planned to attend for the 2023 season

Good for you 310guy. Especially if it’s your own body weight, not the Datsuns. A little tip from me and this is not to be racially motivated but cut out everything “white” in your diet.. white bread, white rice, whole milk Etc.. please don’t think chocolate milk is ok because it’s not white. I hope you stay the course and don’t fret about set backs just always return to trying to achieve your desired weight .
So, a little more to the story.
I picked up the car at the end of the day, and upon turning the key realized that someone (me) left the car flat out of gas. So I slogged through rush hour traffic to gas up and get home. The car drives so much better now, by the way. (And updates to come on the Classic Motorsports site.)
A day or so later, I remembered that I hadn’t yet checked out the new hood struts so, of course, I had to run into the garage and experience them.
My current project/daily gets 24 mpg… when I drive like my 16 year old self.
It’s too much fun for me to try driving it like my 40 year old self “should”.
Son finally got the head off of the crap can car we got as a father/son project. Nether of us has thrown a wrench so that’s a win!

I don’t drink milk – a lot of it was the bread I was eating and portion control. More salads, veggies and fruit too. I also watch those evening snacks – also if we eat out my wife and I are splitting a meal w/a cup of soup.
On the road I hit up a Chick-fil-A salad or the Culver’s kids meal – grilled cheese sandwich, small fry, drink and a cup of ice cream. It holds me full until dinner at 6pm.
Todays lunch is some rice and veggies from our steamer.
My stalemated 99 Intrepid project got rolled into the sunlight last week and had a thorough cleaning done to the interior. It had been previously stored in a shop space not full water tight and was exposed to a LOT of moisture. The interior no longer smells of musty fabric. Going to wash the exterior and see if I can get it to stay running then get it ready for winter storage and *hopefully* finally drive it again after 5+ years of it being of the road due to paint / life happening.
One more to add to the tally.
When I went out this afternoon, I noticed the flag separated from the mailbox.
After passing by an Ace Hardware later in the day, I now see they sell a replacement for less than Amazon.
But, wait, I found the hardware on the ground and, surprise, nothing seems broken.
Free mailbox flag.
I finished my first full season of vintage motocross in first place (Pre-74 250 INT), despite missing the last race of the series with a lingering hand injury. Hand is slowly feeling better, and the winter mx and indoor flat track seasons start in just a handful of weeks.
The dermatologist didn’t think the lesion I have worried about for the past few weeks was any concern.
I still have a biopsy pending from another site.
