New Haas VF-23 makes its debut on track · RaceFans

Haas have completed a shakedown run of their new VF-23 car for the 2023 season at Silverstone, the first time the car has run ahead of pre-season testing.

Having unveiled the livery of the car bearing new title sponsors MoneyGram last week, Haas have completed a shakedown run of the car at Silverstone, the day after Red Bull did the same with their RB19 at the same circuit.

Driver Kevin Magnussen is joined this season by veteran Nico Hulkenberg, who returns to Formula 1 for his first full season since racing for Renault in 2019. The team finished eighth in the constructors’ championship last year after going point-less and finishing last the year prior.

Haas technical director Simone Resta said Haas is looking to continue its progress up the order in 2023.

“After a hard 2021, 2022 was really a great comeback and it gave a massive boost to everyone working on the car – both at the factory and those at track,” said Resta.

“We’re building on that momentum this season and try to make another step. I would say it was probably quite a young group formed at the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, so after one year of working together, I think it’s a good opportunity to create another car together with a better rhythm and better collaboration as a team.”
