Ferrari were in sparkling form on Friday afternoon at Zandvoort, as Charles Leclerc led a one-two for the Scuderia in the second practice session at this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix.
Leclerc set a time of 1m 12.345s on his qualifying simulation run, to lead team mate Carlos Sainz, in second, by 0.004s. It was another good session for Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton rounding out the top three, 0.072s behind Leclerc.
Lando Norris was another in good form on Friday afternoon, going fourth fastest and splitting the two Mercedes drivers, with George Russell fifth, ahead of Lance Stroll in sixth and Fernando Alonso in P7.
Max Verstappen returned to the track after missing most of FP1 with a transmission issue, but could only set a time good enough for eighth, while team mate Sergio Perez was down in 12th. Yuki Tsunoda also briefly brought out the red flags after going into the gravel at the exit of Turn 10.
